The number of tourists who decide to go on vacation in Moldova continues to raise. In the first three months of the year, paid lodgings welcomed nearly 50 000 guests, by 11% more than in a similar period in 2017, shows the data of National Bureau of Statistics.
Most travelers, over 36 000, favored to accommodate in hotels and motels. At the same time, nearly 6 500 people chose sanatoriums, while over 3 200 spend their time in tourist villas. Pensions were also a popular chose of over 2 400 tourists.
According to the statistics, more than half of the people were foreigners. 28% of the over 27 000 tourists were Romanians. Second place was taken by Ukrainians, while a bit over 8% of the tourists who favored Moldova came from Russia. Among vehicles with foreign registration plates that entered Moldova also counted USA, Italy, Turkey and Germany.
