Promotion of interests of Moldovan community from Cyprus discussed by Ministers Tudor Ulianovschi and Nikos Christodoulides
Aiming to promote and protect community's interests, Moldovan communities from Cyprus, counting a few thousands descendants from Republic of Moldova, Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the two states, Tudor Ulianovschi and Nikos Christodoulides, have agreed to strengthen bilateral cooperation, especially at the consular level, as well as in mutual advantageous fields. The meeting between the two officials took place during the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe meeting, that unfolds at Helsingør, Denmark.
During the discussions, Ministers Tudor Ulianovschi and Nikos Christodoulides exchanged opinions on cooperation within international organizations and expressed their interest in promoting an action agenda on developing new perspectives to strengthen bilateral relations, being mentioned the organization of a visit during this year, of President of Cyprus, Nicos Anastasiades to Republic of Moldova.
Here, Nikos Christodoulides highlighted the importance of vivification of bilateral cooperation in the fields of economic and digital diplomacy, as well as the need to strengthen the bilateral legal framework.
In his turn, Minister Ulianovschi appreciated the importance and benefits of the experience of Cyprus in promoting reforms and completing the terms for EU adherence, as well as the availability of authorities to support Republic of Moldova in advancing internal reforms and the dialogue with European bodies.
