UPDATE [10:00] More than 37,000 voters or almost 6% came to the polls by 10:00. The highest presence is recorded in the Râşcani sector of Chisinau - 6.43%, while the lowest rate in the suburbs - 5.01%.

Data provided by the CEC show that women are more active than men. Men 18,500 and women 18,700. According to the age criterion, the most active voters are between 56 - 70 years old, the most passive are the young up to 25 years of age.

UPDATE (09:30) About 27,600 people voted until this hour, which makes up 4.39%. The most active are people aged 56 to 70 (about 12,500), less active are young people aged 18-25, about 900 young people voted. Currently 14,148 men and 14,060 women voted.

UPDATE [09:00] Almost 19,210 citizens cast their votes up to this moment, accounting for 3% of eligible voters.

[08:30] By 08:30 over 12,600 people voted, making up around 2%. The highest presence is recorded in the Botanica sector - 2.12%, and the lowest in the suburbs - 1.8%. At the moment, 6,680 men and 6,100 women voted.

[08:00] 7,732 voters are registered, 1.23% of expected voters. Women 3,624 and 4,200 men are recorded. 

The voting process started without incidents, according to the provisions of the regulation on the activity of the polling station electoral bureaus, approved by the CEC decision no. 2689 of 7 October 2014.

[7:00] The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) informs that at 7:00 all 306 polling stations set up for new local elections in Chisinau were opened.

Today, in Chisinau municipality, there is the second round of elections of the mayor general. Two candidate running for Chisinau Mayor are Ion Ceban, representative of the Party of Socialists of the Republic of Moldova and Andrei Năstase, the leader of the Dignity and Truth party, supported by other right-wing parties.

In the first round, Ion Ceban won 91,575 votes (40.97%), and Andrei Năstase - 71,803 votes (32.12%).

The turnout in the first round was 35.42%.

For the second round of the elections in the capital, about 635,000 voting tickets were printed, 408 thousand in Romanian and 227 thousand in Russian.
