Vlad Plahotniuc in USA: Energy interconnection with the West is crucial for Republic of Moldova
President of Democratic Party of Moldova, Vlad Plahotniuc, has met with U.S. Representative for Texas's 22nd congressional district, Pete Olson, in Houston, Texas. The two officials spoke of energy interconnection of Moldova with the West.
"We spoke of many subjects from the economical-social field, reforms, as well as a very important topic for Moldova - energy security. We also spoke of the general elections that will take place later this year and the Moldova - United States of America relations" Vlad Plahotniuc declared.
PDM leader confirmed during the meeting that Republic of Moldova works to ensure alternative energy source, informing the U.S. congressman of the Ungheni – Chișinău gas pipeline construction.
"Mister Olson is an expert in the field of energy and was interested in Republic of Moldova's efforts to diversify the energy sources. Republic of Moldova needs to have alternative energy and many efforts are made following this aim" Vlad Plahotniuc stated.
U.S. Representative for Texas's 22nd congressional district, Pete Olson, has spoken in the name of the over 800 000 people he represents from Texas.
"We love Moldova. It is a beautiful country and our ally. I urge us to work together and strengthen our relations, as we have done over the past year. We have good relations, we must strengthen it" Pete Olson declared.
Along with president of PDM, Vlad Plahotniuc, at the meeting with the U.S. Representative for Texas's 22nd congressional district were also present the party's vice-presidents Andrian Candu and Vlad Cebotari.
