A wine manufacturer decided to replace all plastic bags, used in specialized shop, with paper bags. The entrepreneur claims that every year are spend around 100 000 bags, while this ides will assist in protecting the environment.

"We aim to protect the environment, because we all know that plastic bags are hard to recycle" commercial director of a wine company, Sorin Maslo said.

Customers greet the initiative that was promoted with the occasion of World Environment Day:

"In America people also try to use plastic bags as little as possible and favor paper bags."

It can take up to one thousand years for a plastic bag to decompose.

"This is correct and ecologic. Those bags take centuries to decompose and therefore, they are harmful to both us and the environment."

"I believe paper bags to be more eco-friendly. Many European countries begun using them a few years ago."

"Our society has a negative impact upon the environment and this becomes more obvious by each passing year."

According to a project, plastic bags will become forbidden starting January 1, 2019.

Statistics shows that every year, each citizen of Moldova uses on average 140 plastic bags.
