Moldova adhered to the railway network of the Organization for Cooperation of Railways
Republic of Moldova has adhered to the railway network of The Organization for Cooperation of Railways (OSJD), which will allow goods to be transported between Moldova and European states, through Giurgiulesti International Free Port.
Within the 46th meeting of the Council of Minister of OSJD member states, was signed a protocol, inclusively by state secretary of Minister of Finance and Infrastructure, Serghei Bucataru, who participated in the event. The meeting took place in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.
During the meeting were discussed subjects in the field of railway and were signed multiple crucial documents, among which counts changes in the Agreement upon the organization and operation of combined transport going Europa-Asia and the progress of the International Conference on bringing into force the Convention on International Direct Railway Traffic project. At the same time, the budget for 2018 and 2019 of OSJD was approved.
The 46th meeting was attended by Ministers and Secretaries of State of Ministries, responsible for railway transport of OSJD member states, among which counts Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bulgaria, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Mongolia, Poland, Russia, Romania, Slovakia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, as well as representatives of companies affiliated with OSJD - PLASKE and Korale, of the Eurasian Economic Commission, Intergovernmental Organisation for International Carriage by Rail (OTIF), International Rail Transport Committee (CIT), International Union of Railways (UIC).
Republic of Moldova adhered to the Organization for Cooperation of Railways (OSJD) on 25th March 1998.
