Counter-terrorism exercise unfolded by Information and Security Service of the Republic of Moldova
Information and Security Service of the Republic of Moldova in cooperation with Security Services from Ukraine have unfolded the counter-terrorism exercise „BUCOVINA - 2018”. Within the operation were trained institution of the national counter-terrorism system.
The event took place at the regional level between 2-8 June, aiming to test, evaluate and improve procedures and mechanism for interaction and interoperability between authorities in cases of terrorist attacks.
The exercise was planned, coordinated and monitored by the Counter-Terrorism Center of the Information and Security Service of the Republic of Moldova, based on the concept of new terror threats and tendencies at the regional and international level.
During the exercise were stimulated multiple terrorist attacks, that were following solved and managed in accordance with the law. Therefore, national authorities have initiated and implemented practical measures to evaluate the reaction capabilities and interaction in counter-terrorism missions. The exercise was finished with the annihilation of a made up terrorism group, freeing hostages and restoring order.
The actions have proved the importance of cooperation in counter-terrorism and organized crimes, the necessity to develop and improve the reactions and management skills of competent bodies.
