President of Moldovan Parliament Andrian Candu has met today with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Finland, Timo Soini, who is currently visiting Republic of Moldova.
Andrian Candu claimed that the general elections will not have an impact upon the implementation of changes promised to people, while strengthening the rule of law, democracy and fighting against corruption remain the priorities for 2018.
In his turn, Timo Soini greeted the cooperation and teamwork between the Parliament and Government, which the official believes to have generated great results for the country in recent years. According to Minister of Foreign Affairs of Finland, the path chosen by Republic of Moldova is not an easy one, but continuing to implement reforms will bring benefits to the country.
"Finland supports Republic of Moldova and we wish for you to succeed" Timo Soini said.
The parties spoke of the reforms that are being implemented in Republic of Moldova, projects that will following be voted before the general elections and about the Moldova-Georgia-Ukraine Inter-Parliamentary Assembly, a project aiming to strengthen the position of the three EU associated countries in relation to the expressed aspirations and the threats they are facing.
Finland will gain Presidency of the Council of the European Union in the second half of 2019.
