22 brave bicyclists will cross 750 km to collect donations for terminally ill
This morning, 22 brave bicyclists have begun a 750 km road from Chisinau to support a noble cause. Their final destination is Braşov, Romania, which they will reach in five days. Organizers wish to collect 11 000 Euro for people suffering from terminal illnesses in villages.
The first stop will be this evening in Soroca. Later, they will pass through Iaşi, Bicaz, Sighişoara and Braşov.
Bicyclists claim that despite it being a challenge, they have accepted it for a noble cause:
"I have never crossed 750 km on a bicycle, but I will try. I am not the best in the field, but I will input all my effort."
"This will be an interesting adventure. I participate in such event for the first time."
Participants are supported by the Ambassador of Romania and Great Britain to Moldova. Officials having crossed a distance of 2 km each.
"I believe this cause to be important. Much energy will be input for a noble cause. I am honored to stand among them" Romania Ambassador to Moldova, Daniel Ioniţă said.
"This morning we had an extraordinary chat with bicyclists. I am impressed that they will go all the way to Braşov" Great Britain Ambassador to Moldova, Lucy Joyce said.
"This is a charity event that aims to collect financial resources. People who wish to support us can do so not only by attending, but also through online donations" manager Hospices of Hope Moldova, Raluca Muntean said.
The event is organized by Hospices of Hope Moldova, having reached its 3rd edition.
