Fugitives Victor and Viorel Ţopa, who finance Dignity and Truth Platform Party, are among the beneficiaries of the Miliardomat, along with raider Veaceslav Platon, and former Prime Minister Vlad Filat. The declarations were made by Mayor of Orhei, Ilan Şor, within an interview where the official spoke of the bank fraud scandal.
The former president of Banca de Economii's Administrative Council, claims that at the time, he did not know of the missing 250 million Euro from the bank. Ilan Şor declared that he was lied to by Filat.
"When I came to the bank, Filat claimed that there was a gap of around 100 million Euro. Those being from several loans that were not returned. Among them counted the loans offered by Viorel Țopa and Victor Țopa, both being today fugitives and Andrei Năstase's masters. They offered this loan and it was never returned and because of this they are now hiding abroad" leader of ŞOR party, Ilan Şor said.
Being threatened by Vlad Filat, Şor claims that in 2014 he was forced to take out of the bank 250 million Euro. The former Prime Minister promising that the money will be returned, while the transactions will be performed by Veaceslav Platon. Şor claims that he trusted Platon, as they were friends and business partners.
"After Filat begun threatening me, I had to give in and offer said loan. Only after a while, did I understood that it was the beginning of the Laundromat. Those money went to "Zenit" and "Saturn" companies, which belonged to Platon" Ilan Şor said.
Ilan Şor claimed that fugitive Renato Usatîi was also part of the bank fraud scandal. Being supported by the secret services from Moscow, he wished to bring chaos in Moldova.
"With Platon's help, the Russians wished to gain control over our financial system, and destroy it a few days before the elections, to create a revolution, Renato being responsible to achieve this. Only after this situation Usatîi begun attacking me, because he believed that I stood in his way of becoming Moldova's 'king'" Ilan Şor said.
An investigation of zeppelin.md shows that Russian Laundromat and Miliardomat are two operations, which are part of the same scheme. It was coordinated by Russian secret services. Recently, prosecutors announced that over 90% of the Miliardomat's beneficiaries were identified, while many of them were already sentenced.
