During today's weekly meeting of PDM was discussed the waste issue from Bălți.

Here, PDM will try to solve once and for all this crisis, for citizens to finally cease suffering.

"Some officials from Bălți City Hall have personally addressed this issue to me, asked for me to step in and solve the problem, which they have so far failed to resolve, namely the waste issue.

The landfill, where the city's trash is being stored, is managed by an economic agent, while Bălți City Hall does not have free access to this land, which generates multiple conflicts, while the city suffers from the trash.

Following, today we spoke, with collages, of solutions, through which we can help Bălți City Hall to solve this issue once and for all, we also spoke with colleague of the possibility of taking over this land from the economic agent.

Taking into consideration that this landfill, even if it is managed by an economic agent from Chisinau, is actually on the territory of 2 villages (Țambula and Bilicenii Noi), while the Mayor of Țambula, as well as of Bălți, are members of Our Party, we consider it correct for this land to be given to Țambula village, so that conflicts and speculations will cease.

This is what the Government can do, while PDM, even if it is not in cooperation relations with the Party, the two Mayors belong to, considers that, in such crisis situations, when citizens suffer, politics must be left aside, while the Government must support any City Hall, regardless of the political ideologies of the regional Mayor.

As you know, in December, at the request of authorities from Bălți, the Government stepped in and helped solve this issue at the time, aiming for local authorities to later find solution and avoid this issue ever arising again.

Now, local authorities from Bălți (of course after the land is given to Țambula, led by party colleague of theirs), have all conditions to solve the waste issue.

If this problem will not be solved even after this, then as they say: You can't help someone who won't help themselves" leader of PDM, Vlad Plahotniuc said.
