A resident in Costesti village, Ialoveni district, was sentenced to 20 years in prison for violating his own daughter.

According to prosecutors, the defendant sexually abused his 14-year-old daughter between December 2016 and February 2018, by physical and psychological constraint.

The girl's mother had been working abroad for several years, and the little girl with her younger brother remained in the father's care.

Being threatened to be discreet, the girl suffered for over a year until she dared to tell her aunt the whole story. 

The woman alerted people to the law, and the 32-year-old man was detained. He was arrested in custody. He denied the wrongdoing.

The sentence is entitled to appeal in the manner prescribed by law.
