Republic of Moldova attends the first Ministerial Partnership for Transatlantic Energy Cooperation in Houston
The Moldova's State Secretary for Economic Affairs, Vitalie Iurcu, attends the first Ministerial Partnership for Transatlantic Energy Cooperation, hosted by the US Department of Energy in the context of the CERA week in Houston, Texas.
Vitalie Iurcu assured US partners determination of Moldovan Government to engage actively in transatlantic energy cooperation partnership to provide both officials and companies with all the resources and tools needed to build energy systems secure and sustainable.
Republic of Moldova Moldova advocates transatlantic cooperation that will result in more efficient use of energy, a more transparent and integrated market.
At the event, Vitalie Iurcu had an exchange of views with US Secretary of Energy Rick Perry on the situation of the Republic of Moldova in the region.
Also, MIE Secretary of State discussed with Deputy Energy Secretary Dan Brouillette the opportunities for cooperation and US support projects for the Republic of Moldova, including attracting US investors in the field.
At the meeting with Fred H. Hutchison, President of the LNG Association, Vitalie Iurcu also addressed the issue of the possibilities of diversifying gas sources, including by importing liquefied natural gas from the USA.
Moreover, the Moldovan delegation participated in an Investment Forum to attract business from the transatlantic community to the Republic of Moldova.
The first Partnership Forum for Transatlantic Energy Cooperation (P-TEC) took place from March 13-14, 2018, in Houston, Texas.
The Ministerial is designed to promote open discussions on energy and security issues, of major importance to all participating nations. Topics are framed in the context of energy, economic and national security.
