An apartment in Buiucani district of Capital was set to fire Thursday afternoon. The flame broke out in its balcony on the 3rd floor of five-storey building. 

A neighbor alerted firemen who fought for almost an hour to extinguish the fire. Fortunately, nobody has suffered.  

"My grandchild noticed piles of black smoke. I opened balcony and realized the fire was extremely serious", said the informer. 

Owner of smoky apartment was not home during the incident. He was called to open apartment's door so that firemen could enter and locate the flames. 

His dog was scared, hiding under the bed. 

"Firemen tried to rescue the dog in vain. I had to wait until the smoke faded and came in and grabbed him", said Anatolii Druc, apartment's owner. 

Dense smoke and tons of water used by firefighters for extinguishing fire also affected the neighbor's apartments. The man says he'll pay for the repair costs.

The firefighters are to determine all the causes of the fir. Preliminary information showed a short circuit produced at fridge power supply in apartment.
