Italy remains strategic partner as the third largest EU exporter to Moldovan market
Italy remains a strategic partner of Moldova both in terms of trade and investment, confirms Moldovan Economy Minister Chiril Gaburici at the 6th Economic Forum of Moldovan-Italian Mixed Italian Enterprises in Moldova.
"In 2018, Moldovan export to Italy increased by 31.2% compared to 2017. Italy is the Moldova's 4th largest goods export market", said the Minister.
The Forum is an important communication platform to provide informational support to all representatives of Italian capital companies in the Republic of Moldova and represents an opportunity to develop sustainable partnerships, share positive experiences and find solutions to challenges.
"The Government's goal is to create favorable conditions for investors, so that they can develop a profitable business in our country. We have over 1 388 enterprises with Italian capital, the invested amount being of 1 760 million lei. According to these figures, Italy ranks second in the list of foreign investors", added the official.
Italy's Ambassador to Moldova Valeria Biagiotti said that today's event is the result of the development of bilateral economic and trade relations between the Republic of Moldova and the Italian Republic.
"Today's Forum will give Moldovan-Italian bilateral relations a superior quality dimension, based on the objective important in the policy of optimizing the national economy and integrating the Republic of Moldova into the world economy ", said the Ambassador.
According to the data, Italy is the third largest EU exporter to Moldovan market. The Economic Forum is organized by the Embassy of Italy in Chisinau in cooperation with the Moldovan-Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Italian-Moldovan Chamber of Commerce.
