250 economic agents participate Economic Forum for Interregional Cooperation Moldova - Belarus
Economic Forum for Inter-regional Cooperation and the Exhibition of Goods from Belarus has gathered roughly 250 economic agents from the two countries.
The event is organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI)) of Moldova in cooperation with the Belarus Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Belinterexpo Exhibition Center.
The opening ceremony of the exhibition was attended by the CCI Presidents Sergiu Harea, Chiril Gaburici, Belarusian Deputy PM Mihail Rusîi, and Belarusian CCI President Vladimir Ulakhovich.
In the opening speech of the event, Sergiu Harea said:
"Today's events are the result of the agreements and decisions of the Moldovan-Belarusian inter-governmental commission for commercial and economic cooperation, but also of the bilateral business forums took place lately in June and December 2017 and January 2018 in Minsk and Chisinau.
The Economic Forum and the Goods Exhibition of Belarus, organized during the official visit of Belarusian President Alexandr Lukashenko, demonstrate the mutual desire to build and expand bilateral ties at the institutional level and between business and interstate communities " .
Minister of Economy and Infrastructure of Moldova, said:
"We are striving to improve the business climate and the investment potential. We have agreed to sign Agreements and contracts between the two states in various fields of activity. This forum is good cooperation between Moldova and Belarus. In 2017, Belarus ranks 9th among the trading countries with Moldova. We see an increase in this area. Today, a new step will be taken to develop our cooperation, "said Chiril Gaburici.
In the context, Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Mihail Rusîi said that he expects from this Forum new collaborations and decisions.
"We have brought here experienced producers, people who influence the production process. Moldova is a reliable partner and a good friend for cooperation in various fields. It is important not to stop here but we should go further, " said Mihai Rusîi.
Vladimir Ulakhovich, the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Belarus, noted that more than 40 Belarusian entrepreneurs are present at the events organized in our country, and 30 enterprises in the petrochemical industry, wood processing, agriculture and food, science, present their products at the exhibition.
Within the forum, over 15 cooperation contracts have been signed on business environment of the two countries.
There are 91 enterprises with Belarusian capital of 3.78 million lei in Moldova.
The volume of foreign trade between two countries in 2017 amounted to 224.67 million dollars, up 9.69% as compared to 2016
The exhibition can be visited during this day, until 18.00, in the Palace of the Republic.
