Vladimir Moscalciuc, aka Makena, escaped six years and eight months in jail.

The Chisinau court, based in Ciocana, has decided to reduce the detention period from 19 years to 12 years and four months, prosecutors from the Prosecutor's Office for Combating Organized Crime and Special Cases have declared for PUBLIKA TV.

The court made this decision because Makena is being held in inhumane conditions in the Cricova penitentiary. Therefore, Makena, convicted in 2012, has over five years staying behind the bars. 

He was found guilty of organizing a criminal gang and blackmail, which he was running from prison. Makena was also convicted in 2002 for burglary in extremely great proportion at 15 years in prison, but was pardoned in 2010.
