Foreign Affairs Ministry is looking for a Secretary General who must know Moldovan language. No joking! It's a mandatory condition included in the recruitment announcement. However, it was changed over night. Instead, the ideal candidate must know the state language.
In a meeting with students yesterday, Foreign Minister Nicu Popescu avoided talking about identity of Romanians in Bessarabia and said that this identity is based on the ability of Moldovan citizens to democratically change their governance.
"The question with national identity of Moldovan citizens is a issue which requires long discussion (Nicu Popescu said "o întrebare cu foarte multe paranteze, note de subsol, ghilimele, text în bold, semne de exclamare, semne de întrebare"- a question with brackets, footnotes, quotation marks, bold text, exclamation mark). Therefore, I don't want to join this discussion", said Nicu Popescu.
