ECHR judge Stanislav Pavlovschi: PM Maia Sandu doesn't realise how important to respect the Constitution
Stanislav Pavlovschi gave the lie to the statement of Maia Sandu that he retired from the government because of his lack of courage. The former Deputy Chairman of PPDA states that the violation of the Constitution led to his retirement from the Government.
“Last night at Jurnal TV Mrs. Sandu stated that my retirement from the Government in June 2019 was caused by my lack of courage. It is false!
Once I’ve decided to retire from politics, and given the upcoming local elections to be held in October, I will not get involved in public discussions with her.
I will say only that I regret that a person of such a high rank does not realise how important is to respect the Constitution. Or, specifically that served me as a reason to retire from the Government.
As a confirmation to what I wrote, you can see enclosed the Declaration of retirement that I sent to Madam Prime Minister on 16 June 2019.
During the constitutional crisis, between 8 and 14 June 2019, I was part of the Government and retired only when the constitutional crisis already ended.
I consider our society has to know the whole truth,” wrote Stanislav Pavlovschi on his Facebook page.
PUBLIKA.MD recalls that Stanislav Pavlovschi resigned from position of Deputy Chairman of the Dignity and Truth Platform Party. During 2001-2008 Stanislav Pavlovschi represented the Republic of Moldova as a judge to ECHR, his candidacy to that position being proposed by the Communists Party of the Republic of Moldova.
