A 48-year-old man was fatally hit while crossing the road irregularly on Ismail street in Chisinau Monday evening. 

The car driver is tested for alcohol impairment, according to the General Police Inspectorate's press officer Svetlana Scripnic. 

A witness declared the car apparently exceeded the permitted speed yesterday.
