The construction of the Chisinau Arena has been suspended since last week because two of the workers were diagnosed with coronavirus. The official inauguration of the complex will not take place on May as expected, Eduard Calancea, the administrator of the public implementation company SRL Chisinau Arena told Publika. 

Publika recalls that the construction of this complex was started on October 14, 2018 in the presence of the members of the Filip Government and the former President of the Parliament, Andrian Candu, who is also the initiator of this project.

The construction works are being carried out by a Turkish company, based on a public-private partnership. The total estimated costs amount to over 43 million euros.
