Starting on July 16, Austria will ban direct flights from ten states including Moldova, according to an order of the Minister of Health, Rudolf Anschober.
The order updates the list of countries considered to be at risk of "SARS-CoV-2", which now includes 18 states.
Ten countries were added to the list: Bulgaria, Romania, the Republic of Moldova, all Western Balkan states, and Egypt.
According to the APA, Austrian Airlines flights to Belgrade, Bucharest, Cairo, Podgorica, Sarajevo, Sibiu, Skopje, Sofia, Tirana and Varna to Vienna-Schwechat will remain canceled at least until the end of July.
Flights from Belarus, China, the United Kingdom, Iran, Portugal, Russia, Sweden and Ukraine are still banned.
However, certain categories of air travel will be exempted: those considered to be in the interest of the Republic of Austria, as well as those carrying goods, the sick, repatriated Austrian citizens, care staff or seasonal agricultural workers.
PUBLIKA.MD reminds that previously Hungary and Italy banned flights to and from Moldova.
