New travel alerts on COVID-19 access restriction
The Chisinau Foreign Ministry has updated travel alerts for Moldovans. Moldovan citizens are still denied access to Romania, Ukraine, Italy, Germany, Greece, France, Hungary or Russia if they do not have an employment contract, residence visa or a medical emergency.
If they go on the basis of these documents, in most countries, they will be forced to stay in 14-day quarantine or take a COVID-19 test. The same states, with the exception of Ukraine, allow the transit of their territory and recommend the specially created corridors for this purpose.
On the other hand, Moldovans can travel freely to Turkey and Albania, where no self-isolation measures are imposed. Once at the destination, they will undergo a medical examination. In the United States, travel is allowed for visa holders, but they will be required to stay in quarantine for two weeks.
