The joint actions carried out by the Customs authorities from Romania, Ukraine and Moldova bear fruit in fighting smuggling cigarettes.

Over 36,000 packs were confiscated in September at the border crossing checkpoints.

The trans-border cooperation aims at fighting smuggling at the European Union’s border. According to the Moldovan Customs Service, the Moldovan customs offices have foiled over 200 attempts of cigarettes smuggling from the beginning of this year, as over 157,000 packs have been confiscated.
