8 Fire Engines were donated to General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations.
The action was made by volunteer firefighters from Austria, for rural areas from Moldova, where fire stations are created. According to IGSU, 4 fire engines will be sent to Larga, Capacilia, Colibaș and Selemet settlements, where local public authorities will create conditions to develop the fire stations.
The event was attended by IGSU leadership led by Major General Mihail Harabagiu, Ambassador of Austria to the Republic of Moldova, Christine Freilinger, leader of Volunteer Firefighters from Austria, Hans Kohler, and representatives of local public authorities.
During the ceremony, officials mentioned the importance of the collaboration between the Republic of Moldova and Austria in the field of promoting and developing volunteering, as well as spoke of the cooperation between IGSU and Austrian volunteers, which has been ongoing for over 6 years.
Based on the collaboration program, Austrian volunteers managed to bring to the Republic of Moldova 38 Fire Engines, which assisted multiple fire stations from rural areas. General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations has been cooperating with Austrian volunteer for over 6 years, managing to gain knowledge of European practices in the field of promoting and developing volunteering in the Republic of Moldova.
According to IGSU, 4 fire engines will be sent to rural areas, while the other 4 will be kept for fire stations that will following be established in settlements from the Republic of Moldova.
