A Moldovan tried to illegally cross the state border by going through a field. The incident was reported near Criva.

According to border police, the man was seen coming from Ukraine to the Republic of Moldova. Intervention group came and detained the man 500 meters from the border line. 

Young man admitted his resident card for Ukraine had expired so he wanted to avoid the legal control procedure. 

The man risks a fine of up to 37500 lei, unpaid community work from 150 to 200 hours, or up to 2 years in prison.
