Aimed at EU pathway, Foundation for Modern Democracy to be created in Moldova
Left-wing civic experts and activists have put effort on joint forces to help Moldova approach closer to the EU pathway.
They launched the Foundation for Modern Democracy, which aims to modernize the political class and develop civil society.
"We have the ambition to promote European and social-democratic values that become helpful for society. Developing political cooperation at European level and improving transatlantic relations is one of our main goals," said MDF president Cristina Balan.
"The Foundation for Modern Democracy is a first case when a non-governmental organization based on an ideology is established," he said the vice-president of the PDM, Marian Lupu.
Particularly, young people will take part in the organization with their initiatives.
"There are many and many young people in the Republic of Moldova who share social-democratic values. Your initiative is welcome and I am sure that your goals will be achieved," said TDM President Alexandru Cauia.
"Pro-European voices must be heard more in the Republic of Moldova because the battle is far from being won."
The Foundation's Board of Directors is made up of five founding members.
