Air pollution in Bălţi reached dangerous levels
According to State Meteorological Service, on April 11, the amount of nitrogen dioxide in Bălţi increased, after recent fires.
The air pollution has reached by 1.1-2.0 times above the recommended limit. While the daily concentration of toxic nitrogen dioxide is by 2.3 times bigger than admissible.
In the following days, air pollution in the city will further increase, due to the weather conditions.
People are recommended to:
Avoid staying in industrial zones and favor walks around parks or forests, especially children, pregnant women and elders.
People suffering from cardiovascular and respiratory disease must avoid physical effort.
To avoid air pollution from worsening, economic agents are obligated to take measures and reduce for a while the industrial emissions, by around 15-20%, according to elaborated plans.
Police will manage traffic to ensure that no traffic congestion is formed.
