Head of General Police Inspectorate, Alexandru Pînzari held a press briefing on the explosion that took place today in the Capital.

"According to the protocol, BOMB TECH service was also dispatched on site. The area was declared safe. One of the man who passed away at around 11:00, entered the convenience store and took around 10 cigarettes packs and then approached the register.

When requested to pay, the man refused. Afterward, from the man's hand or backpack an explosive object fell, which blew up at the store's entrance. According to the received information, the blast was directed toward the street, where another man was located at the time, claiming his life.

The man who caused the explosion was a citizen of Chisinau, born in 1968. The person was previously tried multiple times" Alexandru Pânzari declared.

Being questioned if this was a terrorist attack, Head of General Police Inspectorate denied, claiming there were no signs of a terrorist attack.
