The oldest park from the capital "Alunelul" will catch the color. Local authorities have announced that this year's City Day will renew the lighting system, pavement will be repaired, and new playgrounds will be changed to new ones. The works will cost around five million lei. Novelty delighted the inhabitants of the capital, who say they will be able to walk in the park in modern conditions.

Alunelul Park from the Buiucani sector of Chisinau, with an area of 11 hectares, was arranged in 1960, and until today, no change has been made. This year, the City Hall's leadership set out to modernize the area, and the works could begin in a month.

The announcement was made by the acting mayor, who today, along with other officials went to an inspection on the spot.

"We will intervene on all alleys, curbs, tree deforestation, public lighting, public eve. The electric transport company will move the public transport stops a little, it is the only place where there are many families in the evening, either elderly or small children, who walks", said interim mayor of Chisinau municipality, Ruslan Codreanu.

Previously, there was a big haven in the center of the park, and now it was empty. Also, the summer stadium for 150 seats, where events were taking place, is now abandoned. In just a few months, the sad scene of the park will come to life, and nearly 70 LED lamps will be installed on the park driveway.

"The entire lighting network will be underground. We will rehabilitate the streets adjacent to the park, we will repair the road, where there are pits or where the border is fallen", said Vitalie Butucel, head of General Directorate of Public Transport and Communications. 

According to Buiucani, the park was annually refreshed only by trees and clumps of flowers. 

"In the last few years, 12 large blocks of flats have been built in this area and there is a lot of population and a lot of youth", said Buiucani pretor Valeriu Nemerenco.

The inhabitants of the area are eager to see the new changes in the "Alunelul" Park.

"It needs to be renovated so that the youth can come here and be able to rest. I was at this summer's show, but now it's not working anymore and it's really bad".

"To change the entourage a little, to make it more beautiful, because it is a bit old. I think there must be some paving, I think it will be good".

"This should be a long time because you do not see the state in which it is?" Of course there must be an investment, but the world must be a bit more cautious because investing money must also invest in culture".

"Like every city relaxation area and the Alunel Park is necessary for families, for children, because the playgrounds will be renovated, the children will come here to play, and I would like to go to a modern park".

The modernization of the park will cost five million lei, money allocated from the municipal budget.
