An arsenal of ammunition was discovered at Hincesti
The sappers in the Codru Battalion have neutralized an ammunition arsenal discovered in the vicinity of the Mingir village, Hincesti district.
According to the head of the Genius Service, Adrian Efros, the unit demining team was asked on Monday, November 19, by the local government to intervene on an arable field near the village, where a citizen discovered some unidentified explosive objects.
The genius group, led by Eugen Axenti, searched the ground, where he detected 66 bombs from the 120 mm caliber.
Upon completion of the works, the soldiers determined that the explosive objects were of Soviet production and the date of the Second World War.
"The ammunition has been in the ground for more than 70 years and was life-threatening. The objects were taken and destroyed in a safe place with maximum security", said Axenti.
It is worth mentioning that during the 11 months of this year, the National Army's geniuses defused 382 explosive objects throughout the country.
