Andrei Braguţa case: Identities of police officers arrested
Three police officers were detained in the case regarding the death of detainee Andrei Braguţa in Penitentiary no. 16.
The officers were arrested for 72 hours in the CNA isolator after the General Prosecutor's Office opened a criminal case for torture and ill-treatment.
Prosecutors have not provided information on police identity.
Other four civilians, two former detainees and two others under arrest would have beaten and tortured the inmate Andrei Braguţa.
"Cops and prison officers have given their silent consent to the torture of Brăguţa," said Chief Prosecutor of the PG Torture Division, Ion Caracuian.
They could have heard Braguta's cries of help, but they only came up with observations, without interfering in any way.
Caracuian also said that the detainee Andrei Braguţa was subjected to inhuman and degrading treatment in the prison.
