Andrian Candu on referendum validation: It's victory, friends!
Central Electoral Commission declared validation of republican consultative referendum organized yesterday along with parliamentary elections.
In this context, the head of the Legislature, Andrian Candu, came up with a message on his Facebook page.
"I thank the citizens for their active participation and support for the proposals of Moldovan Democratic Party on consultative referendum February 24.69.56% of voters opted to reduce number of deputies and 69.49% opted for dismissal of deputies. It's victory, friends!
1,136,832 people voted even though electoral contestants boycotted the referendum and put pressure on voters.
The data say that even voters of ACUM supported reduction of number of deputies and and wanted to eject deputies who don't honor their commitments", said Andrian Candu.
PUBLIKA.MD mentions that, according to preliminary official data, roughly 39% voters present at the polls opted for PDM's initiative.
At the question to reduce number of MPs from 101 to 61: 790,784 voters opted YEA while 200,812 voters opted NAY.
At the question to dismiss deputies who fail to fulfill their commitments, 733,125 voters opted YEA while 260,758 opted NAY.
It requires a third of voters registered in the electoral lists for validation of referendum.
