Andrian Candu: Tricolor is our history, while children are our future
President of Moldovan Parliament, Andrian Candu, declared for State Flag Day that Tricolor is our history, while children are our future.
In a Facebook post, where the official appears with his children and wife, Andrian Candu claims that it is crucial for our descendants to know the country's history, traditions and culture.
"History is like a torch, passed on the next generation. We are the ones who teach the children about traditions, culture and our ancestors. All that we read, learned or were taught by our parents. Especially all that we feel. I try to speak with my children of everything, while today, after telling them about Tricolor, Veruța wished to paint it on my cheek.
The State Flag is our history, while children are our future. Therefore, April 27 awakens in me pride - our national identity lies in our children's hands. Congratulations!" Andrian Candu wrote.
PUBLIKA.MD reminds that the State Flag of the Republic of Moldova was officially designated on 27 April 1990 by late deputy Gheorghe Ghimpu.
20 years later, Parliament of the Republic of Moldova voted to name this date State Flag Day.
At the end of the 80s, Tricolor became the symbol of national rebirth.
The blue represents hope and stability, yellow for material and spiritual values and red for eternal fire and blood shed in the name of freedom.
