During today's meeting, President of the Moldovan Parliament, Andrian Candu has spoken regarding the referendum that will soon take place in Transnistria. The words he spoke were referring to both citizens of Moldova, as well as those from Transnistria.
"It is very important for us to know the social, political and economical situation in Transnistria. We must understand at what stage the negotiations are, what are our subjects and expectations, taking into consideration the region. Mr. Balan has informed us of the terms for the 5+2 negotiations. There are four subjects that are important for people from Transnistria, just like there are four subjects important for us. Recognizing the academic degrees, car registration, telecommunications and cases investigated by the General Prosecutor's Office, are all topics of interests for Transnistria. While we are interested in the 8 schools teaching in Romanian language using the Latin alphabet, ensuring that farmers have access to lands, free movement of goods and people, as well as start using the bridge from Gura Bâcului. It is time for us to discuss politics. I will address to Prime Minister Pavel Filip, so that we can find methods to move forward with the negotiations. It is time for us to taken some initiatives. Regardless of the results, it is important to ensure that people from Transnistria are doing well."
