ANSA already installed complaint boxes in 20 stores from Moldova
People who purchased altered products can now submit a complaint to National Agency for Food Safety (ANSA) from the very shop that fooled them. In 20 shops from the country, ANSA installed boxes for petitions. The initiative was greeted both by retailers and customers. Sellers claim that it will allow them to evaluate the quality of their services.
Some of the first boxes were installed in a shop from Botanica sector of the Capital. There, customers can find petition samples that only need to be filled out, attach the proof and insert it into the box.
"Evidence can be the receipt, proving that the products was purchased in a certain shop" ANSA department chief, Sergiu Sârghi declared.
At the moment, such boxes were installed in 20 shops from the country, among which only 6 are in Chisinau. The boxes were sealed, while an ANSA inspector will collect all papers once per week.
"According to the law, the petition must be answered within 30 days. If the case requires investigation, or laboratory confirmation, then the inspector has the right to lengthen the examination period" Sergiu Sârghi said.
The boxes did not scare the store's administration. They greeted ANSA's initiative claiming that from now on, they will create policies based on customers' feedback.
"We are ourselves curious what our customers have to say and with the agency's data we will be able to see the quality of our offered services" director Dumitru Demerje said.
Customers hope that the boxes will make stores managers more responsible. People claim that they will not hesitate to submit a complaint.
"I believe it to be ok. If you can complain someplace it is good. Of course I will submit complaints if something happen, people are not doing their jobs"
"This is a good idea, they should have installed those boxes long ago."
"This box will show the store's products quality, while managers will make sure that only fresh products will not be offered, to avoid poisoning."
ANSA urges all customers to submit complaints if the purchased products do not fit the norms, or are expired for more than a week. In case the products don't have a long expiry date, such as milk, customers are requested to submit complaints only through Viber on the number 067 067 544.
