Appeal Court upholds decision: Reghina Apostolova finally excluded from election
Reghina Apostolova, the candidate of the Şor Party in the elections for the City Hall, is finally excluded from the electoral race.
The Magistrates of the Court of Appeal upheld the decision of the first instance court. The judgment has no right of appeal. Dozens of supporters of the Şor party came to the Court of Appeals today to support Reghina Apostolova.
People chanted various slogans in support of Reghina Apostolova while she was in court.
"I came to support Reghina Apostolova, but we see that the judiciary has made an unfair decision, and we are very dissatisfied with this decision."
"We want a better life, good salary and pension. It's not the right decision, how many people have come here but they are refusing us."
Reghina Apostolova was disappointed with the court's decision. She claims that her removal of the electoral race is an illegal decision.
"It's major blow to me personally, a candidate of Şor party at the local election. But it's more important that it's a blow to Chisinau people who thought projects also started in Chisinau as in Orhei", said Reghina Apostolova, candidate now is excluded from the election.
"The Court of Appeal has left the decision of the first instance in force, rejected our appeal, and we have presented absolutely all the documents and evidence that we are right but no one has heard us," said Vladimir Fiodorov, the jurist of the Şor party.
Reghina Apostolova was expelled from the electoral race for the head of the capital last week.
The decision was taken by the Center District Court, where magistrates decided that Apostolova used campaign money sent from Russia. The request was initiated by the PUN party that drew attention to the external financing for the candidate's campaign.
