Armed Forces announces to be subordinated only to the constitutional order
According to Art.108 (1) of the Constitution of the Republic of Moldova, the Armed Forces are subordinated exclusively to the will of the people to guarantee sovereignty, independence and unity, territorial integrity of the country and constitutional democracy.
At the same time, according to the law no.345 on national defense: The leadership of the national defense system is an exclusive and inalienable attribute of the constitutional authorities of the state. As long as there is no clear certainty in the political situation in the country, the National Army is subordinated only to the constitutional order.
The National Army continues to work normally, does not get involved in the crisis, and will remain outside of political games. In order to reduce the risk of escalation, in accordance with internal regulations applicable in special situations, access to all military units and institutions of the Ministry of Defense is forbidden to anyone outside the institution's staff for a limited time depending on the situation.
