Best practices of standardization process tabled within Euro-Asian Standardization, Metrology and Certification Council meeting
The State Secretary of the Moldovan Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure, Iuliana Drăgălin, participated in the third meeting of the Euro-Asian Standardization, Metrology and Certification Council (EASC), which took place in Chisinau.
This event gathered officials and experts from eight states of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) such as Belarus, the Russian Federation, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Armenia.
Various topics were discussed at the meeting such as best practices of cooperation within the EASC and the possible creation of regional organizations in the field of standardization, accreditation and metrology within the CIS.
State Secretary Iuliana Drăgălin said that the quality infrastructure institutions of the Republic of Moldova meet all the international standards and practices established in the field of accreditation, standardization and metrology, which contributes directly to promote Moldovan products more competitive.
Iuliana Drăgălin said that the National Accreditation Center MOLDAC is a signatory of the Recognition Agreements with the European and international organizations in the field of accreditation (EA, ILAC, IAF). Moldovan Standards Institute is a member of the European organizations (CEN , CENELEC, ETSI) and international (ISO, IEC) standardization.
Topic of signing of CIS Agreements was also tabled. Precisely, it's the Agreement on Technical Barriers to Trade, the Agreement on the Mutual Recognition of Accreditation of Conformity Assessment Bodies.
The Euro-Asian Standardization, Metrology and Certification Council is a platform for the development of multilateral and bilateral trade and economic relations that support the removal of technical barriers to trade.
