Border incidents over the past week
Between March 12 – 18 2018 the following illegal acts were registered at borders:
- 43 people attempted to illegally cross the border;
- 10 people attempted to cross using forged documents;
- 5 drivers documented for illegal movement of goods and people;
- 11 foreign citizen have overstayed in Republic of Moldova;
- 4 attempts of smuggling;
As a result, 64 cases were opened, where a total of 26 100 lei were applied as fines, out of which 12 150 lei were already cashed in.
During last week, 34 foreign citizens, as well as 60 vehicles were refused entry into Republic of Moldova. 6 citizens of Moldova was refused entry to Russia, while another 4 citizens of Moldova were refused entrance into European Union.
At the same time, 300 756 people have crossed the border, among whom 150 635 came to Republic of Moldova. The number of vehicles that crossed the borders amounts to 79 082, most having foreign registration plates - 39 882 vehicles.

Leușeni – 47 836 people crossed the border,
Otaci – 38 663 people crossed the border,
Chisinau International Airport - 38 669 people crossed the border,
Sculeni – 37 757 people crossed the border,
Giurgiulești-Galați - 24 620 people crossed the border,
Criva – 15 165 people crossed the border,
Cahul – 14 927 people crossed the border,
Palanca – 11 192 people crossed the border,
Costești - 10 253 people crossed the border,
Vulcănești – 8 001 people crossed the border.
