Border Police to fight illegal migration with drones on guard at border

The Border Police wants to combat illegal migration using drones, which will help detecting illegal border crossing attempts.
"The right choice for the border police would be around 30 sets, starting with five to six. We will identify the best practices, models guided by ground and drones" , said the head of the Border Police Directorate, Sergiu Toderaş.
The institution will be bought with the support of external partners. One device costs about 250,000 euros.
Last week, employees of Border Police paid a visit to Estonia, where they saw how their peers are trained to use drones.
Meanwhile, police has visited a company producing cameras and systems for border surveillance.
