Brussels encourage Republic of Moldova to continue its pro-Western track even after the general elections
Officials from Chisinau declared for MEPs that Republic of Moldova is ready to become a trustworthy partner at the EU border. Republic of Moldova was encouraged in continuing its pro-Western track even after the general elections.
The delegation from Chisinau, attending a heating at Brussels on the developments registered in Moldova, ensured that in the 2 years of democratic governance, progresses were made.
"The commitment of PDM and Republic of Moldova's Government in coming closer to EU, reform processes and European integration are very clear. Republic of Moldova is ready to become a trustworthy partner at the EU border" co-president of Euronest, Marian Lupu declared.
Brussels has recognized the efforts made by the Government from Chisinau.
"I believe you are committed and on the right path, you also have results. We remain you partners, ready to assist. We will do everything possible to ensure that your country will come closer to EU" vice-president of the European Parliament, Ioan Mircea Paşcu said.
"There is a very strong stream of opinion at EU level that can be felt at the European Parliament, that trust and sympathize the efforts made by pro-European forces from Republic of Moldova" MEP Dan Nica declared.
EU deputies also criticized the obsession of other colleagues from the European Parliament to always criticize the Government from Chisinau.
"Those people tend to see relations with Republic of Moldova with a narrow mindset influenced by their political families, which is counterproductive. The political group must work together to see Republic of Moldova closer to democratic values" MEP Andi Cristea said.
The delegation from Chisinau ensured that Moldova will continue its path to EU even after the general elections.
"The fact that we draw closer to the general elections did not slow down our reform agenda that we continue to implement" PDM deputy, Igor Vremea said.
PDM claims that it is ready, after the general elections, to create a pro-European coalition.
"If such a coalition will not be created due to the stubbornness of some parties, such as PAS, PPDA, then it still has to be seen who will remain in the Parliament, there is the risk that we will have snap general elections" co-president of Euronest, Marian Lupu said.
"Personal interest can disqualify parties and withdraw them from the country's interest, which I believe is EU adherence, and I was glad that surveys show that people trust more EU" MEP Norica Nicolai said.
After the discussions, it was decided for the next meeting to be held in Chisinau.
