Cahul civil protection service's firemen and rescuers to work in modern conditions
59 firemen and rescuers from Cahul will benefit better conditions and equipment which have been renovated due to a US-financed project worth 8 million lei.
Accordingly, firemen will have rest area, bathroom, sport room, car wash for fire trucks.
"This post was reconstructed subject to requirements", said Gheorhge Hanganu, senior officer of Cahul Civil Protection Service.
Moldovan Internal Minister and US Ambassador were present at the inauguration event. Minister Alexandru Jizdan said that several units had been modernized and the project would continue.
"We are at the final stage of this project in Taraclia, Căuşeni. I believe that our colleagues will work effectively with these conditions", said Minister Jizdan.
US Ambassador to Moldova Derek Hogan declared that this project is a symbol of close relations between the US and Republic of Moldova.
"It's an investment from US government and population in order to ensure the prosperity and security for Moldovan population", said Ambassador to Moldova Derek Hogan declared.
Firemen and rescuers from Cahul are working to intervene in exceptional situations in 43 localities in the district. There are over 40 civil protection services in the country.
