Casino administrator in Chisinau, prosecuted for licence fee non-payment
The Anticorruption Prosecutor's Office completed the prosecution against a Chisinau casino administrator who was detained in the beginning of this year for service abuse causing serious consequences.
The defendant who is administrator as well as associate of S.C. "Admiral Casino Imperial" SRL, installed lots of games in casino, without paying license fee, illegally using them to offer gambling services.
The deviations were found in unannounced control carried out in February 2011 by the Licensing Chamber regarding compliance with the licensing conditions by SC "Admiral Casino Imperial 2", located on 79, Stefan cel Mare and Sfint 79, Chisinau.
Thus, the illegal game use and licence free non-payment of that casino damaged the state budget by 534 thousand lei during September 2010 - February 2011.
If found guilty, the defendant risks a fine of 67500 lei until 117500 lei or imprisonment of up to 6 years. Moreover, the defendant will be deprived of rights to occupy certain positions or to exercise certain activities over a period of 2 to 5 years. Also, the defendant will be obliged to recover legal expenses in the amount of 7155 lei.
