CEC warns fines for agitation on pre-election silence day and election day

The Central Election Commission (CEC) warns that today, October 28th, 2016 is the last day that candidates are allowed to make electoral propaganda. According to art. 47 para. (8) of the Electoral Code, election campaign is prohibited on the election day and on the pre-election silence day.
Activities related to campaigning are not allowed on these days, along with candidates appearing on TV or radio. Also, candidates can not withdraw money from the "Electoral Fund" account.
For the maintain of the campaign in the days by the media, candidates and citizens is an administrative offense and is punishable by a fine of 10 to 20 conventional units for individuals and 40 to 50 conventional units applied for the electoral candidate.
