Chiefs of Chisinau Military Center detained by SIS for fake documents release
A fraud offering military service record was stopped by Anti-corruption and SIS officers, within a criminal investigation for passive corruption and power peddling.
By taking special measures, Anti-corruption Prosecutor's office along with investigators from Information and Security Service have searched the headquarter of a Military Center and the houses of all suspects.
According to the prosecutors, employees from Military Center of Chisinau would help, for money, citizens of Republic of Moldova to gain military service exemption. They would forge a military service record, through corruption, where were implicated employees and soldiers from Chisinau's Military Center.
All suspects would request certain amount of money, with a flexible rate, promising military service exemption by manipulating documents, by offering them forged military service records or declarations that they were not fit for military service.
At the same time, in this scheme also participated doctors from the Center, which would hand out incorrect medical decisions.
As a result, the chief of the Military Base from the Military Center in Chisinau and chief of the medical commission from the Military Center in Chisinau, while an employee was declared a suspect, making declarations regarding the case.
The investigation continues.
