Chiril Gaburici: Constructing an arena in Chisinau is a strategic priority of the country
The minister Chiril Gaburici chaired the first working session on implementing the Chisinau Arena project, that took place at the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure. Monica Babuc, the minister of Education, Culture and Search, Octavian Armasu, the minister of Finances, Liviu Volconovici, the minister of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment also participated at the session.
The priority of the working group is to elaborate the roadmap of the Arena, in 10 days and creating a public-private partnership in this sense. Also, till April 1, 2018, the members of the Group should present the Government the roadmap of the Arena.
When the session started, Chiril Gaburici presented the concept of the Chisinau Arena and the necessity of it in Republic of Moldova.
"The construction of the arena represents a priority for our country, because it will create a vast range of opportunities and advantages. According to the pre-feasibility study, the Ministry of Education, Culture and Search, Chisinau Arena will have a capacity of 3 000- 5 000 places, between 800 and 1 200 parking places and it will be able to host different sportive events, conferences, exhibitions and concerts. The construction will also have an Olympic pool tennis terrain, fitness and spa", mentioned Chiril Gaburici , the President of the working group.
According to the ministry of Economy and Infrastructure, the private partners that will be elected will pass a public, experienced transparent contest.
Also, it has been decided to build the arena on the land of the viticulture and winemaking excellence center from Stauceni.
