Chisinau court rejected suspended Mayor's request to 'fulfill obligation to voters'
The Chisinau Court of Appeal rejected Dorin Chirtoaca's request to be released from judicial control. The suspended Mayor said he wanted to work and fulfill his obligations to his voters.
Moreover, he mentioned that he would repeatedly ask for the Order by which he was suspended from office.
On the other hand, the prosecutor says that the court's decision is correct, indicating that the case is at the incipient stage and there is a risk that the defendant may influence the witnesses not to present at the court hearing.
Dorin Chirtoaca was detained by anti-corruption prosecutors and NNA officers on May 26th.
He is accused of trafficking in passive influence and corruption in the pay parking lot file. Chirtoaca does not recognize his blame.
