Chisinau Zoo prepares animals for chilly winter (PHOTOREPORT)
The Chisinau zoo is ready for winter. Employees have reserved meat, vegetables, fruits, among them strawberries, raspberries and frozen cherries.
Every animal from the zoo needs special care during cold and employees strive to provide them with the necessary vitamins.
During winter the animals consume more protein. Therefore, employees increase the amount of frozen meat.
Over 100 tons of hay was purchased for herbivorous animals, and special shelters have been prepared.
The Chisinau zoo has over 1,096 creatures. During the winter, pelicans, cranes, primates, monkeys, ostriches and parrots are confined to withstand the cold season. And bears fall into hibernation.
