Compensated medication number increases by 50-per-cent in Moldova
The list of compensated medicines from the mandatory health assistance funds will be extended by 65 medicines and will reach 140 pharmaceutical preparations, under a today’s decision taken by the council for compensated medication, Moldpres informs.
Also, the council ruled that people younger than 18 will also benefit from compensated medicines on behalf of the state. “So far, only children smaller than 5 years have received compensated medication. In this respect, the Health Ministry (MS) proposed that not only the family physician, but also the pediatrician should have the right to prescribe these medicines, which will contribute to an opportune initiation of the treatment for children,” the MS press service has said.
Also, the ministry increased the term of prescription of compensated pharmaceutical products from two to three months.
MS forecasts that, following the new amendments, the rate of compensation of the medicines for adults will be 70 per cent and for children – 100 per cent. The compensated preparations indicated in the recipe will be issued by the drug store contracted by the National Health Insurances Company.
